I started watching WWE again just to see Bret Hart, and he was the only reason I saw Wrestlemania XXVI at all, I completely stopped following the shows after Wrestlemania. I assumed his return was just a brief thing. Now I read that he's apparently back on TV in a general manager role. Is this new or did he never leave? Someone fill me in.

I also didn't followed Raw after the wrestlemania... but I had read that... He' was been a GM... but now he's out after the attack of NEXUS (WWE NXT Rookies Season 1). His Health insurance provider would cancel his insurance if he will be injured through wrestling.... There is new "Anonymous" GM now on RAW, that gives order through email... It is rumored that the unknown GM is Steve Austin... source: www.prowrestling.com/

The new GM isn't Austin. They had the GM use Austin catchphrases to throw people off. Don't be surprise if you see then GM saying something like "Have a nice day" or "Finally, the GM has come back to *Insert city here*"

So is he out now as a GM or is it all part of a storyline?

He's out as a GM...
As I remember... Hitman just signed only 4 months contract before the Wrestlemania... so His contract expired...
But there are rumors about Hitman's return... (as Seasonal Attraction just like Austin)...

In a rare turn for Bret Hart, he is siding with WWE in the most recent Martha Hart lawsuit. Apparently she is suing WWE for continuing to use Owen in promoting their product.
Bret said that he is siding with WWE, because Owen was very proud of his wrestling career and deserves to continue to have it honored. The bitter Bret of yesterday is clearly gone. Here's hoping we get to see more Hitman in the future.

I really hope they bring Bret back again. The Nexus beat down isn't a fitting end to his character.

The HITMAN is scheduled to return on SummerSlam and will team up with CENA, EDGE, Y2J, MORRISON, R-TRUTH and THE GREAT KHALI to face the NEXUS for 7 on 7 tag team match!

That's going to be awesome. That's a good way to put him in the action, but not overwork him. My only question is, what genius thought The Great Khali would make a good addition to this dream team? I hope someone gets fired over that one.

What does the Great Khali have to do with the Nexus storyline. I don't even think Khali even interacted with the Nexus.

Bret will be on Raw in 2 weeks. It will be a tag match, John Cena & Bret Hart vs. Edge & Chris Jericho. Next weeks Raw was pre taped and they announced this as the Main Event for Aug. 9.
