Montreal is now Canada's only hope since Chicago took out Vancouver. Montreal has shocked everyone. What an underdog Eastern Confrence final it will be if we have Montreal vs. Boston. That would make an unbelievable series. Here's hoping!
Plus if Montreal beats Pittsburgh that would mean that out of all the teams left, the last time one of them won the Stanley Cup was Montreal 17 years ago. Yay, no reruns!

I remember I was a kid the last time Montreal won, which was the first time I ever watched through the playoffs. It would be exciting if they can do it again. In unrelated news, but a bonus for myself, Gladiator, Teen Throb and Mac. Negotiations have fallen through in Phoenix, and it looks like the next in line is a private owner from Winnipeg. There's a chance Winnipeg may get the Jets back. ca.sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_ylt=Aiil3pobJ0mYL1XoksLB0p0BfwM6?slug=dw-winnipeg051010

I don't know what's more surprising here, the fact that Gary Bettman may actually allow an American team to move to Canada, or the fact that Winnipeg actually has a private business man worth $19 Billion Dollars. I thought Winnipeg was only made up of people earning 30 grand a year like me. Go us! Funny to note, Winnipeg's last season we lost in the first round of the playoffs to Detroit. Phoenix this season lost in the first round to Detroit. Funny little fact.

Montreal Wins! Montreal Wins! Montreal Wins!
(This outburst has been brought to you by Ray Lyndon).
What? Boston loses again. How can the team go from 3-0 to 3-3 against Philadelphia? Philly wasn't even supposed to make it past the first round darn it. They better not win. This could be the first time in ages that I would be happy with any of the final four teams winning the Stanley Cup. I really hope Boston gets their Mojo back.

As a Leafs fan, I must say: Fuck Montreal.
Even though Pittsburgh has become my surrogate team due to the boys in blue being a complete embarrassment since the lock out, my anger isn't even over them being kicked out. Syd won the Cup and a Gold medal in a year's span, even if it wasn't the same calendar year. But, as far as the playoffs go, I follow ABM: Anyone But Montreal.
If Montreal wins the cup, I'll probably have to stop watching hockey. I'd be more upset then when Tampa-fucking-Bay won the cup.
Meanwhile, I guess I'll throw my support behind the Blackhawks. Toews has had a special place in my heart since he won the Gold Medal in the World Juniors and said "fuck" on National Television:
Not to mention he scored the first goal against the US in the Gold Medal Game. And, the Blackhawks may not be Canadian, but at least I show respect to an original 6 team (except Montreal. Always fuck Montreal.)
Anyways, fact remains that I hate Montreal, and I hate Montreal fans even more. Seriously, every person that I've hated in my life has been a Montreal fan. It's like my litmus test on whether or not you're a good person. Seriously, fans in Boston and Philly get a bad wrap; but Montreal fans are just the worse kinds of people. Having them just squeeze into the playoffs and win the cup would just vindicate their cause even more.
Anyone. But. Montreal.

I must admit, I have been impressed with Philadelphia this season. Maybe I am in the minority here, but I would like to see them win the whole thing. It would be a great underdog story since they came back from a 3-0 deficit against Boston, and came back to win the whole series. Philadelphia FTW.

Chicago vs Philadelphia
The team I praised from the beginning vs. The team I trashed from the beginning. I would personally like to be the first one to congratulate Chicago on their inevitable Stanley Cup victory. The only question left for me is will they win the series 4-0, or 4-1. I don't see Philly winning any more games than that... but who knows, maybe I'll be shocked... and maybe pigs will fly. Mwa ha ha ha.

Gladiator successfully predicted Chicago in the finals. Good job. I successfully predicted both Chicago and Philly to lose in the first round. Time for a flogging.

This is actually the first time I've picked a team to win, and they actually won since Detroit won in 1996. My 14 year dry spell can be explained by my need to pick the underdog, and the underdog rarely winning. This time around I didn't really like any of the underdog teams that actually had a chance of making it, so I went with my favorite of all the top teams. Go Me!
Let the flogging of Teen Throb begin!
