Lets get some predictions going for the Stanley Cup Playoffs
EAST CONFERENCE
Washington Capitals vs Montreal Canadians My pick is Washington. As much as I hope for a Canadian team to advance the Canadians barely made the playoffs and they frequently blow it in the Quarters
New Jersey Devils vs Philadelphia Flyers I pick New Jersey. They had a much better season and almost always perform well in the playoffs
Buffalo Sabres vs Boston Bruins I'll go with Buffalo.
Pittsburgh Penguins vs Ottawa Senators I doubt a lot of people will agree with me considering Penguins are the defending champs, but I think Ottawa is finally due.
WEST CONFERENCE
San Jose Sharks vs Colorado Avalanche Last season was really embarrassing for Colorado. I think it was by far the worst season they ever had. Now they repl, aced the entire coaching staff and bounced back, but there's little chance they'll get past the Sharks. I bet on the Sharks. They might even take the Stanley Cup this year.
Chicago Blackhawks vs Nashville Predators There's always an upset and I'll predict Nishville gets past Chicago. I have no real reason for this. Just a random guess.
Vancouver Canucks vs Los Angeles Kings I'll go with Canada's best hope here. I don't think it's unrealistic to think that the Canucks have a decent shot at making the finals either. Congrats to the Kings for actually making the playoffs.
Phoenix Coyotes vs Detroit Red Wings So the Red Wings are frequent dominators in my life time, but one thing I've noticed is when they do lose it's usually to an on fire underdog team. Who would've expected Phoenix would make the playoffs. It's been 8 years since they were here. This could be the tightest series. I'll go with Phoenix for the win.

Washington vs. Montreal
Clear cut. I would be shocked if Montreal can pull it off.
New Jersey vs. Philadelphia
Philly isn't the same team they once were. Watching them makes me long for the days of Ron Hextall.
Buffalo vs. Boston
I am probably in the minority here, but Boston has been consistently getting better over the last 5 years or so. I think they have alot of heart.
Pittsburgh vs. Ottawa
Oh how I wish Ottawa could pull it together and get the win. They just aren't all that consistent.
San Jose vs. Colorado
Same reason Philly will lose. I think Colorado would be better off with Ron Hextall as well.
Chicago vs. Nashville
Nashville is a well rounded team, but they just don't have the same umph as Chicago.
Vancouver vs. L.A.
With Vancouver's past of playoff woes, I wouldn't be shocked if they blow it, but here's hoping.
Phoenix vs. Detroit
Oh how I pray I'm wrong. I am tired of Detroit. I really want to see someone new get a shot. Plus Coyotes are still kind of like a home team since they came from Winnipeg once upon a time.
All this being said, if it ends up being Pittsburgh vs. Detroit in the finals for the third time in a row I pledge to not watch one game of the series. Not just because of repitition, but honestly those two teams produce some very boring hockey games against each other.
My prediction for the Stanley Cup Finals
Washington vs. Chicago
What I would like to see
Ottawa vs. Vancouver (A guy can hope, right?)

Thanks to my extensive years of watching hockey movies, I safely say the Charlstown Chief will win the Stanley Cup and save their dying sawmill town.
Paul Newman is dynamic at center, and nobody can stop the Hanson Brothers.
Go to the bookies, this is a sure bet I'm giving for free! ;D

You may have a point there. Though, if the Mighty Ducks could get Gordon Bombay back as there coach and sign Dean Portman and Fulton Reed, then they'd give the Chiefs a run for their money. No one messes with the Bash Brothers.

Philly, Pittsburgh and San Jose have all advanced. Phoenix has pushed it to game 7. I want to see Detroit go down hard.
Thus far Estevez and the corpse of Paul Newman have been non factors. Too bad cause I was almost convinced they had a lot of promise.

Vancouver just took the series too. I only caught the 3rd period but it looked really tight. It was tied all the way up until the final 2 minutes.

Wow! I am shocked I've actually been right for the most part. With six series decided I was right about 5. The only one I got wrong was Philly and Jersey. Who knew Philly still had life in them after all.
Now all that is needed to be decided is Washington vs. Montreal (Never expected the Socialst Republic of New France to do so well), and Detroit and Phoenix (Still praying my prediction was wrong. I would love to see Phoenix make it to the next round).

My jaw almost dropped yesterday when I saw Montreal was winning. That would be a huge blow to Washington if they lose to a team that barely made the playoffs.

So I went 6-2, can't believe Montreal took out Washington. Now for my second round predictions.
San Jose vs. Detroit
Maybe I'm just blinded by my hatred of Detroit, but I think San Jose's got this one in the bag baby!
Vancouver vs. Chicago
Would love to see Vancouver win, but I think Chicago is on the way straight to the top.
Pittsburgh vs. Montreal
Montreal did take out powerhouse Washington, but I think Pittsburgh will be too much for them.
Boston vs. Philadelphia
I was very impressed with how hard they worked against Buffalo. I don't think Philly can outwork them.
Oh how I hope it doesn't end up as another Pittsburgh/ Detroit finals. I hate reruns!

Where in the hell did Halak pull that performance from?
Montreal Canadiens v Pittsburg Penguins
I don't know. If Halak stays hot, the Pens are fucked. But, the Canadien coach will find a way to undermine him and give Price playing time, and thus handing it to Penguins. Penguins
Boston Bruins v Philadelphia Flyers
Rask will not allow this. Bruins
San Jose Sharks v Detroit Red Wings
Sharks will do what they always do, and find a way to blow this. Red Wings
Vancouver Canucks v Chicago Blackhawks
No idea, but this will be a blast to watch. For the hell of it, I'll just say Bobby Lou will get hot. Canucks

Ding, Dong, Detroit is gone!
How San Jose managed to not screw up for a change is beyond me.

Tonights game 7 for Montreal and Pittsburgh. Montreal barely made the playoffs and they managed to take out Washington the top team. Now they have a chance to eliominate Pittsburgh as well. This couldn't be any more epic if it was a Mighty Ducks movie. Except if they lose.
